Nir Orbach - President & CEO
In his role as Illumiti’s CEO, Nir is the chief "architect, engineer and coach" for our team. He is a respected business leader who understands not only the technology, but the organizational factors needed to succeed in today’s dynamic marketplace.
Nir began his consulting career in the United States in 1994 – garnering extensive practical knowledge and field experience working with a number of large clients including INTEL and IBM. He later worked for several years as a Senior Consultant, Project Manager and Project Director on several implementations and as Vice-President of SAP Consulting firm Tullamore Advantage. In 2000, Nir founded Illumiti, a firm dedicated to delivering long term customer value by maximizing the benefits of SAP’s software offerings. In support of that vision, Nir has set out to attract, hire and retain the best talent in the SAP market. Under his leadership, Illumiti has grown from its fledgling days as a small SAP implementation company to an organization offering a broad spectrum of technology expertise and services across North America and globally.
Today, Nir plays an active role in not only the day to day management of our firm but also in helping our clients achieve their objectives. Combining a natural ability to engage others with his extensive knowledge and experience in organizational development and project management, Nir is able to assign the team members who best fit the needs of the project and the dynamics of his client's team.
Nir is a member of the e-Business Advisory Committee at the Humber Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning Business School. In May 2012, Nir was selected as one of Canada’s 50 most promising entrepreneurs and took part in KPMG’s Quantum Shift Program at the Richard Ivey School of Business.
Dror Orbach - Chief Operating Officer
Dror is an international high-tech executive with more than 30 years of experience in management consulting, software development, IT architecture, marketing and product management.
Dror Orbach's work experience includes senior executive positions at companies varying in size from small to very large – including Amdocs (NYSE: DOX) and Accenture (NYSE: ACN.) Dror possesses a unique combination of Marketing, Strategy, Product, and Delivery / Operations experience, as well as an unceasing appetite for technology-enabled business innovation.
Prior to joining Illumiti Dror had his own consulting business, Pragmatic Visionary Consulting Services, focused on assisting companies in establishing clear business & operational visions – and driving practical change agendas to deliver them. Dror's international, cross-industry experience before becoming an independent consultant includes an associate partner role as Head of Technology R&D in the EMEAI region at Accenture; three VP roles at Amdocs; CxO level roles in two financial technology companies - FIS Software and Earnix; and a CEO role at an early-stage startup in the Online Advertising industry. During his career so far Dror has attained significant work experience in the US, South Africa, France, and the UK in addition to Israel.
Dror holds a M.Sc. in Computer Science and a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science, both from Tel Aviv University.
Larry Perlov - Managing Partner
Larry Perlov is a veteran of high-tech and consulting industries with over 16 years of international executive-level experience and expertise in SAP, ERP, and IT infrastructure solutions.
Larry has extensive experience at leveraging people, processes and technology to drive business value for clients. Prior to Illumiti, Larry was a senior vice president at IMG responsible for IMG’s Global SAP Business One business unit.
Prior to that, he was vice president of Intuit Corporation Distribution Services and director of EMC Corporation Client Solutions of New England. As a senior director at PLAUT Consulting, Inc. he was responsible for international SAP implementations, which spanned business development and project and integration management. Expert in core SAP modules as well as process design and integration, Larry is a results-driven leader with a proven track record in business development, operations, and program management. He is noted for his ability to create and motivate highly efficient teams of experts who drive SAP solutions excellence.
Michael Drew - Managing Partner
Michael Drew is a global business and technology executive offering twenty years of experience in both the industry and consulting domains.
He specializes in creating business value for stakeholders, employees, and customers by integrating Strategy, Scorecards and Metrics, People and Organization, Business Processes, Information Technology, and Equipment/Plant. He is experienced at all levels of organization, and is adaptive and hands-on in working successfully with all, from the "C" and VP levels to the field and "shop floor".
Michael has extensive global experience, is culturally adaptive, and has delivered value successfully on six continents. His track record of success spans the energy, utilities, chemicals, life sciences, pulp & paper, metals & mining, transportation & logistics, manufacturing, and service industries. On the technology front, he has been involved with SAP since 1994, has been a module functional consultant, integration manager, organizational change manager, project manager, and project director. He has also delivered Oracle, JD Edwards, and custom development projects. Michael has also delivered strategy and transformation, and business process improvement projects.
Michael has held Vice President level positions at ABB, Cap Gemini, Eagle Global Logistics, and Infosys Consulting.
Bertus Jacobs - Managing Director
Bertus is responsible for Illumiti's Channel Partner business with SAP, which resells and implements SAP's Business One Solution to small and mid-sized clients.
Bertus has over 25 years of IT experience with the last 10 implementing SAP Solutions. He was responsible for the establishing of a SAP Consulting practice from 0 to 80 consultants back in his native South Africa. He started his career in Electronic Engineering for a military aircraft manufacture. After managing a number of large complex software development projects at an IS9001 certified System Integration Company he started his career in SAP in the early 90's. He holds a diploma in Electronic Engineering and BSc degree in Computer Science.
Carolin Calvo - Vice President, Professional Services
Carolin is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery and customer value creation for Illumitis’ large accounts across Canada.
Over the past 18 years, Carolin has served on many SAP R/3 projects both in lead functional roles and as project manager. Fluency in French and Spanish, vast international experience and expertise in a wide range of diverse industries, including 3PL’s, Global Trade, Entertainment, Chemical, Steel and CPG all contribute to her capacity to offer leadership to senior management and project teams. Carolin holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Guelph and is an SAP-certified SCM consultant.
Jamie Fryer - Vice President, North America Sales
Jamie Fryer is the Vice President, North America Sales for Illumiti. In this role, Jamie is responsible for leading the activities of our professional sales team in Canada and the United States. Jamie works with a wide range of customers to help them find the best SAP solutions for their organization. He has a strong customer service focus as well as in-depth knowledge of SAP products including SAP Business All-in-One. Jamie has played an instrumental role in helping Illumiti become SAP’s Business All-in-One Partner of the Year for Canada for the past three years in a row.
Prior to joining Ilumiti, Jamie began his career at DataMirror Corporation where he was responsible for building their North American business partner channel. More recently, Jamie worked for Oracle Canada where he was a Technology Sales Manager.
Jamie has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Guelph.
Jim Gundy - Vice President, Business Development
Jim Gundy brings over 15 years of consulting sales and client management experience in the ERP and SAP marketplace.
Jim shares the Illumiti passion for customer service and a focus on building long lasting customer relationships/partnerships.
Jim is based out of Illumiti’s Boston office and is taking responsibility for managing the sales and marketing activities for Illumiti’s Northern US consulting practice. Prior to joining Illumiti, Jim Gundy served as Client Partner for SAP Consulting responsible for managing client solution definition and delivery for select strategic accounts within various industries. He has also held key business development and client management roles for Deloitte, Plaut Consulting and Arthur Andersen.
Peter Orton - Vice President, Delivery
Peter brings over 20 years of experience as an Information Technology professional to Illumiti, 16 years focused on implementing and enhancing SAP applications.
He believes technology investments should create value for organizations, and is skilled at developing business cases with measureable benefits, and implementing process and executive scorecards to ensure business goals are met through efficient use of technology, business processes and organization. He has partnered with C-level executives to establish business and I/T strategies, and is comfortable working with all levels of an organization.
His experience includes over 20 successful SAP projects in aerospace, chemical, financial services, wholesale distribution, manufacturing and retail industries across North America, Europe and Australia. In addition to new software implementations, Peter has delivered successful post-implementation business process improvement projects, driving value promised from initial software investments.
Peter has worked many roles, both as a client and consultant, including Enterprise Architect, Director of Enterprise Applications, Project Manager, and Functional Consultant. He has extensive knowledge of global accounting and financial processes, holding a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University (Australia), with majors in Accounting and Computer Science.
Ray Oliverson - Vice President, Business Effectiveness Practice
Ray heads up Illumiti’s Business Effectiveness offering, helping customers drive reliable and sustainable competitive advantage (profitability, compliance, social responsibility) from assets, leveraging information technology investments.
He has over 36 years of experience encompassing many hundreds of engagements in reliability and maintenance consulting where he has had great success delivering measurable financial improvement through the implementation of reliability/maintenance strategies and systems.
He served as President of HSB Reliability Technologies, Vice President at ABB on a national level, and is a Founding Member and former Director of the Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP).
Ray has extensive experience servicing major customers in the Pulp and Paper, Refining, Petrochemical, Chemical, Steel, and Automotive Industries. Notably, Raymond is a member of the Paper Industry Management Association (PIMA) where he is a regular presenter, a member of Manufacturing Reliability group, and consistent financial supporter. He is also a member of the Institute of Safety and Systems Management (ISSM).
Among Ray’s many achievements over an illustrious career, he is credited with developing the concept of price versus cost of maintenance, adapting the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) metric for continuous process industries, developing the concepts of: maintenance cost compared to replacement asset value, preventable maintenance and operator driven reliability.

Rory Friedman - Vice President, SAP Business All-in-One Practice
Rory Friedman joins Illumiti's Canadian operations as Services Director, SAP© Business All-in-One.
Rory has ownership of our SAP Business All-in-One Pre-Sales cycle as well as being involved as Project Director on the implementations in order to help ensure the highest quality of service is delivered to our customers.
Rory has 10 years of SAP and business experience. After completing degrees in Biochemical Engineering and Administrative and Commercial Studies (finance and economics concentration). Rory began his career working at Optimum Software Solutions (OSS) in Toronto. OSS focused on selling SAP software and services to small and medium sized companies. After 3 years at OSS he worked as an independent consultant for 5 years, primarily in plant maintenance and service management. He then joined New Dimension Solutions, a niche services company, specializing in enterprise asset management solutions.
Rory has worked mainly as a project manager and/or functional lead consultant, typically on implementations with very aggressive timelines. His experience has been concentrated around the logistical functionality including manufacturing, materials management, service management and plant maintenance. He has a thorough understanding of the integration between logistical modules and finance/controlling as well as the functionality therein.
Rory has worked on engagements in Canada and the USA in industries such as Pharmaceutical, Utilities, Manufacturing and Technology.
Quentin Lowe - Vice President, Sales
Quentin Lowe has over 12 years of enterprise software & consulting sales experience in the SAP marketplace.
He is responsible for managing the sales and marketing activities for Illumiti’s Central & Eastern Canadian consulting practice. Prior to joining Illumiti, Quentin Lowe was Director of Sales for a leading publicly traded Canadian software company. In this role, he responsible for managing sales in Central & West USA, Latin America and Asia Pacific and managed key alliance relationships with a number of hardware and software industry leaders.
He has also held key management roles at other companies including Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Saipx and has presented at numerous conferences including ASUG, SAPPHIRE & others. He holds a Bachelors degree in Management Economics.
Lorraine Howell - Senior Director, Solution Development and Business Intelligence
Lorraine has 15 years experience in SAP, and has interchangeably been involved in implementing and supporting Finance and Controlling in various different industry sectors (chemical, pharmaceutical, engineering, service, paper manufacturers, telecommunications, retail, music industry, mining) and managing projects through their full lifecycles. After teaching at University and completing her Doctorate in Nuclear Physics, Lorraine began her career in SAP at EDS in South Africa, and then joined Tullamore Consulting in Toronto where she worked for 3 years implementing and supporting multiple customers in the SAP FI and CO modules. Thereafter as an independent consultant for 8 years, Lorraine was involved as solution architect and project manager through various project cycles, including engagements at Siemens and the City of Toronto, as well as the implementation of SAP at BMG Music in Canada and subsequently in the United States. Further engagements included the management of the merger between Sony Music and BMG Music, involvement in the upgrade to ECC5 and then subsequently to ECC6, and the implementation of SAP Business Intelligence in the merged company. Lorraine has worked mainly as a project manager and/or functional lead consultant, typically on projects requiring creative solutions. Her experience has been concentrated around the financial modules and more recently in Business Intelligence, but has included extensive interaction and knowledge of both sales and distribution, and materials management.
